House explorers of all ages can now head to the San Diego Air & House Museum in Balboa Park to expertise Moon Base San Diego, an exercise and schooling heart, museum officers introduced Tuesday.
“Moon Base San Diego is a one-of-a-kind expertise providing explorers of all ages the chance to be taught what it takes to stay, be taught and carry out experiments on the moon with out ever leaving planet Earth,” museum President and CEO Jim Kidrick stated.
“We re-imagined Moon Base San Diego to make it interactive, instructional, and most significantly enjoyable for adventurers looking for a very distinctive and immersive expertise proper right here in their very own yard.”
Moon Base San Diego “immerses households in life on the moon with dwelling quarters and a lunar floor they will expertise and discover,” museum officers stated.
Youngsters can go to a NASA lunar lander capsule, taking over the roles of pilot and astronaut. Within the heart of the room, kids of all ages can sit and work together round tables teeming with interactive studying supplies. Different areas of curiosity embrace a e book nook, desk house and a moon habitat.
The exhibit was made potential by donations from the Walter J. and Betty C. Zable Basis and Las Patronas.
Moon Base San Diego is included with normal admission to the San Diego Air & House Museum, which is open seven days per week from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. besides Thanksgiving and Christmas.
